Canada Hydrogen & Graphite Project
Location: British Columbia, Canada
Partner: FortisBC Energy Inc.
Website: https://www.fortisbc.com
Operating Model: Technology Licence & Engineering Services
Project Overview
Hazer’s Canada Project represents one of the Company’s most advanced commercial deployment pathways in North America under a binding Project Development Agreement with FortisBC Energy Inc.
The project is designed to produce low-emissions hydrogen and high-quality graphite using the Hazer methane pyrolysis process. Under the agreement structure, FortisBC will hold 100% equity ownership and act as developer and operator, while Hazer licenses its technology and provides engineering services for the core process components. This structure aligns with Hazer’s capital-light licensing strategy.
Project Location
The project is located in British Columbia, Canada. A region with strong policy support for hydrogen development, established gas infrastructure and growing industrial demand for low-emissions energy solutions.
Scale and Configuration
The proposed facility contemplates production of up to approximately 2,500 tonnes per annum (tpa) of hydrogen and around 9,500 tpa of graphite.
Nagoya Clean Hydrogen Project
Location: Nagoya, Japan
Partners: Chubu Electric Power Co. and Chiyoda Corporation
Website: https://www.chuden.co.jp/english/
Website: https://www.chiyodacorp.com/en/
Operating Model: Technology Licence
Project Overview
Hazer is progressing a commercial deployment opportunity in the Nagoya region of Japan in collaboration with Chubu Electric and Chiyoda Corporation.
The project contemplates integration of the Hazer Process within existing LNG import terminal or power station infrastructure to produce clean hydrogen for power generation, industrial feedstock and mobility applications and graphite for use in asphalt and bitumen
Project Location
Nagoya is a major industrial hub in Japan with established LNG infrastructure and strong government support for hydrogen as part of Japan’s long-term energy transition strategy.
Scale and Configuration
The project is evaluating initial hydrogen production capacity of approximately 2,500 tpa, with potential scalability to 10,000 tpa or greater subject to market demand and site integration.
United Kingdom – Marram Energy Storage Hub Integration
Location: Northwest England, United Kingdom
Partner: EnergyPathways plc
Website: https://energypathways.uk
Project Overview
Hazer has entered into an agreement framework with EnergyPathways plc to assess integration of the Hazer Process within the Marram Energy Storage Hub (MESH) project in northwest England.
The project is designed to produce hydrogen and graphite, with potential downstream ammonia production, utilising feedstock and infrastructure associated with the MESH development.
Project Location
Northwest England is an established industrial region with access to gas infrastructure and strong UK government support for low-carbon hydrogen deployment.
Scale and Configuration
Initial concept studies are based on approximately 20,000 tpa hydrogen production, with scalability potential depending on project outcomes and market demand.
South Korea – POSCO Collaboration – Steel Decarbonisation
Location: Pohang, South Korea
Partner: POSCO
Website: https://www.posco.co.kr
Project Overview
Hazer is collaborating with POSCO, one of the world’s largest steel producers, to explore integration of the Hazer methane pyrolysis technology within low-carbon steelmaking processes.
The collaboration builds on successful testing of Hazer graphite in steel applications and evaluates hydrogen supply to support direct reduction and electric arc furnace operations.
Project Location
Pohang is a major steel production centre in South Korea. The country has committed to ambitious industrial decarbonisation targets, including reduced emissions in steel manufacturing.
Scale and Configuration
The collaboration includes evaluation of medium-scale demonstration opportunities with potential for larger-scale industrial deployment subject to technical and commercial progression.
Whyalla Clean Steel Bid
Location: Whyalla, South Australia, Australia
Partner: M Resources
Website: https://mresources.com.au/
Project Overview
Hazer has entered into a binding memorandum of understanding with M Resources to incorporate the Hazer Process into their bid to revitalise the Whyalla steelworks as a low-emissions steel production hub.
The proposal will integrate clean hydrogen for direct reduction of iron and utilising graphite as a recarburiser within electric arc furnace steelmaking.
Project Location
Whyalla is a long-established steelmaking region in South Australia and has been identified as a strategic site for low-carbon steel transformation initiatives.
Scale and Configuration
The proposed development would represent a large-scale industrial application of the Hazer Process, subject to the outcome of the acquisition and redevelopment process.
